Back from the depths of Tesla's Lab (actually last week it was Ron's lab), where we've been working with some heavy hitters (or more like admiring heavy hitters at work) putting the finishing touches on the next Banimon toy project. We will be bringing you more updates on it in the coming months as well as some sneaks on the pages of this blog, but first let's stop to say a huge thank you to Paul, Ron and especially Matt for making this possible. The whole Planet Banimon is beyond excited (and a little scared) with anticipation, and it's all thanks to these guys.

Speaking of the Planet, there is an interview from the Boston Comic Con floor Boris did with Comic News Insider's Jimmy Aquino as part of their Episode 398 Podcast. And finally, all post-Comic Con orders have shipped, we apologize for any delays in getting your stuff during this recovery season.

So once again, the Boston Comic Con is upon us. We will be there both days and we are happy to announce that for the second year running, our friends from RawShark will be there with us as well. That means some exciting news for Callgrim fans, as there will be not only The Order and Callgrim figures on sale, but also some new, con-exclusive Callgrim-themed Banimon posters and comic content to boot that foreshadows a whole new line of collaboration we are working on with the super-talented Jesse Moore. We will also have some VERY limited edition (I'm talking 10-20 pieces per style) clothing in addition to standard RN gear, so come by and say hello. On behalf of the Banimon crew, we are very happy to be returning to the Hynes, and the con promises to be bigger then ever - so please show your support, as there are some very talented local artists to check out and tons of fun to be had. As always, here's looking forward to catching up with old friends, and making some new ones...

No Wheels?

There have been some rumblings on the continuation of the Banimon saga, and we've gotten some mail about it as a reaction to the occasional posts on this blog. It is indeed true that Banimon will return in a comic book format, but we also wanted to find a way to make the story accessible to a wider audience, and not be hostages to the limitations and schedules of the printed medium.

And so it is our great pleasure to announce that for a week leading up to the Boston Comic Con, we will release one page a day from the latest Banimon mini-comic. There are 8 pages total, and they will be completely free. That said, if you enjoy it, you will have an option to make a PayPal donation and help the cause of generating more Banimon content. This comic will contain clues as to some exciting future releases, and is part of a larger, surprise-packed 3-story special with a working title Banimon Reunion. It essentially continues where Banimon 3 and Tok-Tok's Search left off, but more on that at a later date. For now, we just hope that you will embrace this new delivery concept, and help make it a success.

SHOP UPDATE: After some unexpected activity the past week, we've run out of inventory on a few items. The Getto Rockets will be restocked (we are planning a special themed update just ahead of BCC), but the rest of the stuff will not. We will however continue to add low-run items to coincide with scheduled releases, as we have in the past.

Last and not least, after a five year run, the initial printing of BANIMON #1 has been sold thru. For each of the 3,000 copies of an independently published comic to find a home is a day most of us associated with this project never thought would actually come. A humble and heartfelt THANK YOU goes to everyone who got a copy, regardless of how you came about it. Our thanks also to folks at Diamond for taking a chance on Banimon, and all the independent comic shops who carried and supported us at the grassroots level.

The Apocalypse Guard

Nobody knows anything for sure, but the rumors of a new elite Banigoth soldier are rampant. Whatever the latest creation from the lab of Dr Fukara, the inhabitants of Planet Banimon have learned by now not to expect pleasant things.

Has Tesla finally met his match? Talented Dr. Fukara, who helped Tesla refine the basic Subzero fighter, is now in the employ of the Banigoth. In Tesla's own old lab, he uses his old colleague's detailed plans and equipment to his own nefarious purposes. Acclaimed in his own right as a Sculptor With The Scalpel he now twists Tesla's vision into a deadly weapon for his new bosses. Meanwhile, Great Banigoth is picking up the scent of fugitive Tesla and Banimon, looking for the final piece to his puzzle of Planet domination.

We are confirmed for the Boston Comic Con this year. Still working out details on booth# and lineup information, look for updates on this blog. One thing's for sure, we'll be looking forward to meeting some old friends, as well as making new ones. Jim over at BCC has been doing a phenomenal job putting it all together - last year was a blast, this one thus far looks like it might be even better!

One month down in what promises to be the best year for Banimon yet. We have been a little quiet on the news front, but that doesn't mean folks on the planet are idle! The latest installment of the Banimon epic is well underway, though the final delivery format is still up in the air, and our next foray into the toy world is in the works. Stay tuned...

Block party is happening over at Onell Design!!! Tonight at 9pm EST, the long-awaited Core Block is droping. As always, there will be other goodies on offer, but this one in particular we've been looking forward to for a good while. The Core Block gives a whole new dimension to the to-date Glyos vinyl offerings, as it is fully compatible with Armadoc, The Rig and the new Callgrim bikes. Customize away!!!

It was high time for the Planet Banimon website facelift, and so it is that we're ushering the 2012 with a redesign. We are still committed to Flash and interactive motion in general as a way of delivering the Banimon content, and we will also continue to explore different, non-mainstream ways of telling stories and connecting with you guys. That said, we also wanted the website itself to be as accessible as possible to the evergrowing Banimon community, so we hope you like the new look.
